After\u00a0taking an\u00a0<em>Intro to Materials Science<\/em> course,\u00a0Reid came away with\u00a0a\u00a0new-found interest in\u00a0the field of \u00a0of materials science, especially the use of\u00a0materials science engineering methods in solving forensic problems.\u00a0His next step was to find an internship that would complement\u00a0\u00a0his MechE\u00a0major and his strong interest in Materials Science. A bit\u00a0of\u00a0research and some timely\u00a0networking led\u00a0him to an interview with MEE&#8217;s Principal Engineer, Larry Hanke.
