{"id":386,"date":"2016-06-21T21:27:56","date_gmt":"2016-06-21T21:27:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mee-inc.com\/blog\/?p=386"},"modified":"2016-06-22T19:19:52","modified_gmt":"2016-06-22T19:19:52","slug":"materials-science-camp-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mee-inc.com\/blog\/?p=386","title":{"rendered":"Materials Science Camp 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thirty high school students spent a day at\u00a0MEE \u00a0as part of a\u00a0week-long Materials Science Camp sponsored by the MN Chapter of ASM\u00a0International. \u00a0Under the direction of \u00a0industry and education based \u201cMaterials Mentors\u201d, students got\u00a0hands-on experience solving a materials failure analysis project.\u00a0Three on our staff, Larry Hanke, Kurt Schenk and Neal Hanke, were\u00a0 camp mentors. This was MEE&#8217;s tenth year sponsoring the camp.<\/p>\n<p>Shown in the pictures below are students preparing samples in the metallographic lab, viewing samples in the\u00a0SEM, performing Rockwell hardness testing and consulting ASM handbooks in the library.
