Safety Training

posted February 2015

The staff at MEE received training in CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) for the emergency treatment of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). AED’s are now widely available, safe, effective, portable, and easy to use. They provide the critical and necessary treatment for sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) caused by ventricular fibrillation, the uncoordinated beating of the heart leading to collapse and death. MEE purchased and installed an AED after this training session.

Free training was provided by the Rotary Club of the city of Plymouth, in partnership with Allina Hospitals and Clinics as part of their Heart Safe Community Initiative. Instructors came to our office with resuscitation mannequins and an AED so everyone got hands-on experience.

If  your company is interested in receiving this valuable training, call your city to find out if they have a Heart Safe Community program or visit the MN department of Health website for more information.
